Former WTVJ-TV Channel 6 sports anchor and sports reporter Kristina Pink has added sideline reporter duties for Los Angeles Clippers television broadcasts on Fox Sports West and Prime Ticket in southern California. She joined Fox Sports as an NFL sideline reporter at the beginning of the 2012 season.
Pink had worked at WTVJ-TV until late August and was replaced by Courtney Fallon. She once worked as a sports anchor at WGNO-TV in New Orleans and at WDBD-TV in Jackson, Mississippi.

Miami/Fort Lauderdale Arbitron Ratings October
Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM was the top rated sports station in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale region for the second straight month in October. 940 The Sports Animal WINZ-AM pulled off a big shocker as they surpassed 790 The Ticket WAXY-AM for second place in the market.
The second month of the Jorge Sedano reign proved beneficial as WQAM went up from a 0.9 to a 1.1 and extended their lead in the region. Sedano continued on a good trend as the afternoon host and program director at that station. In addition, afternoon sports anchor/weekend host Brandon Guzio picked up additional duties as an evening co-host with Kevin Rogers. The new show gained momentum with no Florida Panthers game broadcasts in October due to the NHL lockout.

Miami Heat Open With Win
The defending NBA champion Miami Heat opened up the 2012-13 campaign, their 25th season in the league, with a 120-107 victory over the Boston Celtics at American Airlines Arena on Tuesday night. They raised their second NBA championship banner and received championship rings prior to the start of the game.
Reigning NBA Most Valuable Player LeBron James piled up 26 points and ten rebounds in 29 minutes before he left the game early in the fourth quarter due to leg cramps. Dwyane Wade added 29 points in 35 minutes while Chris Bosh had 19 points and ten rebounds in 37 minutes played. Ray Allen made his Heat debut and sank 19 points in 31 minutes. He had played the last five seasons with the Boston Celtics, which included winning an NBA title in 2007-08, before he declared free agency.
On the Celtics scoring slate, Rajon Rondo placed 20 points and 13 assists in 44 minutes of action. Paul Pierce led the C's in scoring with 23 points in 41 minutes while Kevin Garnett had nine points and 12 rebounds.
The Celtics would last hold a lead in the game just seven minutes into the contest at 17-16. Miami would not relinquish the lead for the rest of the game and were ahead 62-54 at halftime. The Heat hit 13-of-19 shots from the field in the third quarter and outscored the Celtics 31-22. Boston was down by 17 points, 93-76 after three periods.
Boston pulled within four points at 111-107 with 2:09 left in the fourth quarter. Mia Harris Rejoins WAXY
Mia Harris has rejoined 790 The Ticket WAXY-AM for her second stint at the station as a morning sports anchor and midday sports anchor. She was previously a sports anchor and sports producer with that organization. Harris was recently a part-time sports anchor at MLB.com. Harris was a sports anchor, New York Giants sports reporter and New York Jets sports reporter at Sports Radio 66 WFAN-AM in New York City prior to that.
Harris, a Syracuse University grad, began her professional broadcast career as a studio production person at ESPN and as an associate producer with the Miami Heat. Following her first stint with 790 The Ticket, Harris moved to Los Angeles to work for ESPN 710 KSPN-AM as an afternoon sports anchor and later at Fox Sports Radio as a weekend sports anchor. She then went back to the east coast and was employed by Sirius Radio as a sports anchor.

American Heritage Pounds Cardinal Gibbons
It was supposed to be a competitive matchup to determine who would take first place in District 15-5A, but the American Heritage Patriots dismantled the previously unbeaten Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs 70-19 on Saturday night at Heritage Field in Plantation. The Patriots, who put up 42 points in the second quarter, visit Dillard on Friday to determine if the they can clinch the district title or be forced into a three-way tiebreaker.
American Heritage(7-1, 3-0) got the initial score in the first quarter as Isaiah McKenzie caught a 25-yard pass from Tyler Cogswell. Cardinal Gibbons(7-1, 2-1) cut the lead down to 7-6 as George Rushing scored on a five-yard reception from Ryan Giaratano.
Seconds into the second quarter, Torrance Nelson scored from 18 yards out for the Patriots. Alex Montes de Oca added to the lead with a 15-yard touchdown catch at 10:47. After a bad punt by the Chiefs, Sony Michel ran 40 yards down the right sideline on the first play to the Chiefs two-yard line. He scored on a two-yard run on the following play at 8:51 as he extended their lead to 28-6. Mark Aguilar Jr. would return a punt 50 yards for a touchdown at 6:37.
Michel finished off the Patriots next possession on a 53-yard run at 5:35 in a two-play, 62-yard drive. McKenzie then followed on the first play of their next drive with a 45-yard touchdown reception down the left sideline at 3:04 to cap an American Heritage 42-point second quarter. They had a huge 49-6 lead at halftime.
Surprisingly there was no running clock to begin the second half. David Senior of the Chiefs ran the opening kickoff 92 yards for a score at 11:48. Jason Jackson Out At WAXY
Jason Jackson has left Lincoln Financial Media Miami after only eight months on the job. He worked the early afternoon shift on 790 The Ticket WAXY-AM since early February and 104.3 The Ticket WMSF-FM since late August. Eric Reed leaves the midday shift at 104.3 The Ticket and takes over Jackson's spot. Reed was a producer on The Jax Show since it began.
Jackson will continue at Sun Sports in his new role, which was announced in late August, as the Miami Heat studio host for home games and as a sideline reporter for road games this season. He did both studio host and sideline reporter work for the Miami Heat television broadcasts since the mid-2000's.

St. Thomas Aquinas Beats Plantation
The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders elevated themselves to first place in District 15-7A as they slipped by the Plantation Colonels 24-20 on Saturday afternoon. The game was delayed one day due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy. Frederick Coppet had an impressive game as he rushed for 209 yards. The Colonels had their six-game win streak snapped and are now in second place in the district.
St. Thomas Aquinas(6-2, 4-0) got the opening score at 2:09 of the first quarter as Coppet concluded the ten-play, 63-yard drive with a 23-yard catch from John O'Korn on a screen toward the left side.
During the second quarter, Plantation(6-2, 3-1) cut the lead to 7-6 as Chris Lammons scored on a fourth-and-three run from the five-yard line at 8:39. The Raiders responded on the first play following the ensuing kickoff as Coppet rambled 80 yards for a touchdown with 8:24 left in the first half and a 14-6 lead.
The Colonels tied the game at 14-14 with 6:06 remaining in the second quarter. Antonio Williams sprinted around the left end from 23 yards away. Jovante Ham ran in the two-point conversion to even the game.
The Raiders retook the lead 17-14 at 6:41 of the third quarter as Alex Knight put through a 29-yard field goal. Plantation got their only lead of the game 20-17 at 3:01 as Damian Levy squeezed by with a one-yard rushing score on a third-down-and-goal. He had a 58-yard run earlier in the drive to the Raiders one-yard line.

Heat Fall To Wizards
The Miami Heat played their second road game in consecutive nights as they lost to the Washington Wizards 101-94 in Kansas City on Wednesday night. Udonis Haslem and Mario Chalmers made their preseason debuts with Miami. The Heat return home to play the New Orleans Hornets on Friday night.
The Big Three did the bulk of the scoring for the Heat as Dwyane Wade had a team-high 23 points and seven rebounds in 33 minutes. Chris Bosh contributed 18 points and four rebounds in 25 minutes while LeBron James got 13 points, six assists and five rebounds in 29 minutes played.

Due to the impending storm of Hurricane Sandy, many of this week's high school football games in Palm Beach County on Thursday and Friday have been delayed or canceled. Games involving District 13-7A teams in playoff contention will be played on Monday night. Royal Palm Beach will visit Atlantic in what would decide first place in that district. Dwyer travels to Lake Worth that same night. Non-district games that had Park Vista at Palm Beach Gardens along with Seminole Ridge at Boca Raton have been canceled and will not be made up.

Heat Take Bobcats
Shane Battier, a Duke University graduate, returned to the Tobacco Road region in North Carolina as the Miami Heat defeated the Charlotte Bobcats 98-92 at the PNC Arena in Raleigh. Dwyane Wade did not play in the game for Miami.
The Heat began the game scoring the first six points and had a 31-22 lead after one quarter. They continued to hold on to a seven-point lead at halftime. Miami's Chris Bosh had 13 points and Charlotte's Kemba Walker had 15 points at the half.
Miami started the second half on a 15-2 run and led 66-46 with 7:22 left in the third quarter. The Bobcats pulled off a 13-2 run early in the fourth quarter and cut the margin to 85-78 with six minutes left in the game. The closest Charlotte came to take the lead was at 92-90 with two minutes to go.
Bosh finished with 21 points, seven rebounds and five assists in 25 minutes. LeBron James played 29 minutes and scored 10 points and eight assists. Ray Allen had his best preseason performance as he poured in 15 points while Battier knocked in nine points.

Marlins Dump Ozzie Guillen
The Miami Marlins have fired manager Ozzie Guillen on Tuesday after only one season at the helm of the club. There was much anticipation for the Marlins this past season as they brought in a new manager and moved into a brand new stadium in Miami. The Marlins finished last in the National League East with a record of 69-93.
Guillen signed a four-year contract with the team with two games left in the 2011 regular season that was to conclude in 2015. He will be paid for the three remaining years of that deal. Guillen left the Chicago White Sox after eight seasons there. He led the Pale Hoses to their first World Series championship in 2005 after 88 years.

WQAM Promotes Channing Crowder
Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM has upped former Miami Dolphin linebacker Channing Crowder to the early afternoon co-host position with Adam Kuperstein. He replaces Steve Goldstein who was let go by the station last week. Goldstein began as the Sports Bang studio co-host this past weekend with Jon Weiner on WFOR-TV Channel 4.
Crowder played for the Miami Dolphins from 2005 until 2010 and retired in August 2011. He immediately joined WQAM and became a fill-in host and Miami Dolphins expert for the station.

Patrick Off Fox Sports Florida
Dan Patrick and his radio show will no longer be simulcast locally on Fox Sports Florida. His show will continue to be heard on 940 The Sports Animal WINZ-AM. Patrick recently celebrated the fifth anniversary of his current radio show. He will bring his simulcasted show to NBC Sports Network this week.
All Fox Sports regional sports networks were also discontinuing his show. Comcast Sportsnet regional sports networks stopped showing his television simulcast earlier this year. Heat Slip By Spurs
LeBron James did not play for the Heat on Saturday, but Miami got by the San Antonio Spurs 104-101 at American Airlines Arena. The Heat overcame a 14-point deficit in the second half and outscored the Spurs 27-16 in the fourth quarter for the comeback victory.

Cardinal Gibbons Edge Dillard
Christian Blake caught a 40-yard pass behind the Dillard defense in the end zone with 14 seconds left in the fourth quarter and gave the Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs a 27-26 victory over the Dillard Panthers at The Furnace on Friday night. Ryan Giaratano found him on a fourth-and-three play in what was the Chiefs final chance to win this game.
The complexion of District 15-5A changed as of the result of this game as Cardinal Gibbons(2-0, 7-0) remained undefeated and will travel to Plantation-American Heritage next week for the district title. Dillard(2-1, 4-4) fell to second place and hopes they can reach the FHSAA playoffs as a district runner-up because they lost to the Chiefs in the head-to-head tie breaker.
The Panthers got going on their second possession of the game when Dennis Turner caught a 40-yard pass down to the Chiefs 18-yard line. Lee Martin finished the 11-play, 80 yard drive with a eight-yard run around the left end at 5:42 for a Dillard 7-0 lead.
Dillard was unable to get off a punt on their next drive as Gibbons took over at the Panthers 16-yard line. Three plays later, Giaratano hooked up with David Senior on a 15-yard touchdown reception with 19 seconds left in the first quarter to tie the game 7-7.

Heat Dismantle Pistons
The Miami Heat played their first home game since they returned from their one week trip to China. They had no problem with a 105-78 victory over the Detroit Pistons at American Airlines Arena on Thursday night.
The Big Three had a very productive effort with fine contributions. Dwyane Wade was the leading scorer with 21 points and five assists in 23 minutes. Chris Bosh added 17 points and six rebounds in 22 minutes while LeBron James had 13 points, eight assists and four steals in 27 minutes of play.
Former Pine Crest graduate Brevin Knight returned home as he played 23 minutes, scored 12 points and pounced on five rebounds for the Pistons. Greg Monroe led Detroit with 15 points.

Dwyer Shocked By Atlantic
The nationally ranked and undefeated William T. Dwyer Panthers were upset by the Atlantic Eagles 28-12 on Thursday night at Blum Stadium in a District 13-7A battle. Both teams are now tied for second place in the district as Atlantic owns the head-to-head tie breaker over Dwyer. It was the final regular season home game for the Panthers as they wore pink uniform jerseys in honor of breast cancer awareness month for the second consecutive week.
The game began 45 minutes late due to a weather delay caused by lightning. On Dwyer's first punt of the game, Brisly Estime returned a punt 64 yards for a touchdown at 9:46 of the first quarter and an Atlantic 7-0 lead.
A bad punt by Atlantic on the final play of the first quarter gave Dwyer the ball at the Eagles 20-yard line. The Panthers scored on the first play of the second quarter as Alonso Smith rambled up the middle for a 20-yard touchdown at 11:52. The extra point was kicked wide left and Dwyer was down 7-6. It was the closest they would get to take the lead.
Another good kickoff return by Estime had the Eagles next possession begin at Dwyer's 40-yard line. He capped the five-play drive with a 24-yard reception from Thomas Owens at 8:34 to extend their lead to 14-6.

The Panthers defeated the Pompano Beach-Blanche Ely Tigers in the first round and the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders at home in the regional final. The team led by head coach Jack Daniels ended their season with an away loss at the eventual FHSAA Class 7A champion Bradenton-Manatee Hurricanes.
The Panthers will be headlined by Clay Meister as quarterback along with wide receivers Johnnie Dixon and Clint Stephens. Defensive end Malik Brown will led the Dwyer defense that held Santaluces to a 47-0 shutout last week. The Panthers have four shutouts in six games this season.

WQAM Cans Steve Goldstein
Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM has let go Steve Goldstein, a.k.a. Goldie, after a three year tenure. He co-hosted the early afternoon shift with WTVJ-TV Channel 6 news anchor Adam Kuperstein since the first week of the year in January. He will co-host a Saturday sports show with 790 The Ticket WAXY-AM afternoon co-host Jon Weiner, a.k.a Stugotz, on WFOR-TV Channel 4 called Sports Bang as of this weekend.
Goldstein, a Syracuse University grad, finished a second run at WQAM. He came back to the station as a temporary midday host when broadcasting legend Neil Rogers retired in June 2009. When Sid Rosenberg was named the new midday host in September 2009. Goldstein moved into a weekend host and fill-in host role.
His first stint at WQAM was where he was first noticed by local listeners. He came in as the morning sports anchor when Bob Wischusen was promoted to morning co-host with Joe Rose on The First Team in late 1994. After Wischusen was demoted to afternoon sports anchor in 1995, Goldstein added morning sidekick to his resume with Rose and Andrew Ashwood. He would have the same duties when Jeff DeForest took over for Ashwood on the show later that year.
Goldstein replaced Jon "Boog" Sciambi as the radio studio host for Florida Panthers game broadcasts in October 1996. He would hold that position for eight seasons through 2004. Heat Fall In China
The Miami Heat played their second game this week in China on Sunday and lost to the Los Angeles Clippers 99-89 at Shanghai. Both teams flew back to the United States following the game.

Troy Stradford Out At WMEN
640 Sports WMEN-AM has let go Troy Stradford as their late morning host on Friday. The former Miami Dolphins running back and Boston College grad had been with the station since it flipped to a sports format in 2008. He also co-hosted a Sunday midday NFL show with Orlando Alzugaray since 2011. Stradford will continue as a high school football game analyst on Comcast Xfinity.
Former Miami Dolphins offensive linesman Keith Sims will take over the late morning spot as of Monday. Sims has been the sideline reporter for the Miami Dolphins Radio Network since 2011. He is also a panelist on The Finsiders Show heard at 940 The Sports Animal WINZ-AM weekday afternoons.

Glades Central Beats Dillard
It was a battle which involved two high school football programs that had a long tradition over the decades Friday night as the Glades Central Raiders defeated the Dillard Panthers 31-19 at Otis Gray Jr. Memorial Stadium in Fort Lauderdale. It was the Raiders second appearance this season in Broward County following a second-week loss in Plantation against the Colonels.
Both teams participate in much heralded rivalry games during the final week of the regular season every year. Glades Central takes on the Pahokee Blue Devils in the Muck Bowl while Dillard faces the Blanche Ely Tigers in the Soul Bowl.
The Raiders had the only score in the first quarter on a 30-yard pass by T.J. Abrams to David Bailey at 2:41. In the second quarter, Roland Cierjuste kicked a 25-yard field goal for the Panthers and closed the gap to 7-3 at 9:06.
William Likely finished off a two-play, 53-yard drive with a 34-yard touchdown run up the middle and extended the Raiders lead to 14-3 with 7:51 left in the first half. Dennis Turner caught a 13-yard touchdown pass from Lee Martin for Dillard at 4:23 and cut the deficit to 14-10.

Pahokee Rips Calvary Christian
The Pahokee Blue Devils made their only appearance in Broward County this season and pounded the Calvary Christian Eagles 40-14 on Friday in a District 7-3A match up. The Eagles were eliminated from a playoff spot while the Blue Devils lost the head-to-head game against Delray-American Heritage earlier this season for a possible district runner-up spot.
Calvary Christian(0-3, 3-4) fumbled the ball away on their third play from scrimmage at the Eagles seven-yard line just 70 seconds into the first quarter. James Johnson finished the two-play drive with a one-yard sneak for a Pahokee score at 10:00 and a 6-0 lead. On their next possession, the Eagles had a bad snap over the punter's head that was recovered by Pahokee(1-2, 2-4) in the end zone for a touchdown at 8:07. Jay Hopson ran in the two-point conversion and the Blue Devils had a 14-point lead. Kevine Miller scored on a 55-yard punt return and extended their lead to 20-0 with 6:34 left in the first quarter.

Guzio Joins Kevin Rogers Show
Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM has added Brandon Guzio as an evening co-host with Kevin Rogers. Guzio joined the station in early September as an afternoon sports anchor for the Jorge Sedano Show and a weekend host. He was the midday co-host with Eric Reed for only one week in late August on 104.3 The Ticket WMSF-FM.
Guzio was the morning sports anchor at 790 The Ticket WAXY-AM for several years on the Jorge Sedano Show. He became the interim morning host earlier this year from early April until early May when Sedano left. He was also a weekend host on the station. Guzio was an early afternoon co-host with Steve White at WAXY from May until late September 2009 when he was switched to the midday sports anchor position. He began at the station as a sports producer and sports reporter in 2004.

Heat Wins In China
The Miami Heat played their first game ever in China as they defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 94-80 on Thursday in Beijing. Dwyane Wade and LeBron James returned to the city where they won the gold medal in the 2008 Summer Olympics. Both teams will meet again on Sunday for a second game in China to be held in Shanghai.
Wade made his preseason debut after coming off knee surgery during the summer in which his missed the Olympics. He had five points, four assists and four rebounds in 23 minutes. James led the Heat with 20 points, five assists and five rebounds in 26 minutes.

Glades Day Dominates Coral Springs Christian
Kelvin Taylor, the all-time leading rusher in Florida high school history, made his only Broward County appearance on Friday night as his Glades Day Gators pounded the Coral Springs Christian Crusaders 69-0 in a District 7-2A game at Mullins Park. Glades Day had a 55-0 halftime lead which led to a running clock with two eight-minute quarters in the second half. Taylor, who has committed to the University of Florida, had over 200 yards rushing and five touchdowns in the game.
Glades Day(3-0, 5-1) jumped on their opponent during their first drive. Taylor scored just 49 seconds into the contest on a 52-yard touchdown run. After recovering a fumble on the ensuing kickoff, Taylor added to the lead with a 35-yard run up the middle untouched thirty seconds later. On the first play of the Crusaders next possession, Calvin Darville intercepted a pass and returned it ten yards for a score. Glades Day had a 20-0 lead with 10:28 left in the first quarter.

Miguel Cabrera Wins Triple Crown
Detroit Tigers third baseman Miguel Cabrera became the first player in 45 years to win the Triple Crown in major league baseball on Wednesday night. He led the American League with a .330 batting average, 44 home runs and 139 RBIs in 2012. His team also won the American League Central Division title for the second straight season. The last person to hit for the Triple Crown was Carl Yastrzemski with the Boston Red Sox in 1967.
Cabrera once played for the Florida Marlins from 2003 until 2007. He won a World Series title with the team back in 2003, his rookie year. He was traded by the Marlins to the Detroit Tigers along with Dontrelle Willis for six players including Cameron Maybin and Andrew Miller in December 2007.

Panthers Lose Five Games
The National Hockey League has cancelled all regular season games from October 11 to October 24 due to the NHL lockout. The defending Southeast Division champion Florida Panthers will not play five games during that time period. It will include opening night at home against the Tampa Bay Lightning on October 13 and another home game versus the New York Islanders on October 18.
The Cats won't play three road games in the first two weeks of the season. Cancelled games will include visiting the Washington Capitals on October 15, at Tampa Bay on October 19 and at the New York Islanders on October 22. At this point the earliest date for the Panthers to raise their division title banner could be on October 29 when they face the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Marlins End Season With Loss
The Miami Marlins finished their first season at Marlins Park as they lost to the New York Mets 4-2 on Wednesday. Miami went 38-43 at home in their new stadium this year. The Marlins ended their season in last place for the National League East with a record of 69-93. The Mets completed their 50th season in major league baseball.
Jeremy Hefner(4-7) nailed the victory for the Metropolitans as he allowed two runs on five hits in 7 1/3 innings while Tom Koehler(0-1) lost his first major league start when he gave up three runs on six hits in five innings for Miami.
In the third inning, Andres Torres blasted a lead-off home run to right field on a 2-0 pitch by Koehler for a Mets 1-0 lead. It was just his third homer this season.
Ike Davis had a one-out double to deep left in the fourth inning. Scott Hairston followed as he socked a two-run homer to left field for his 20th home run this year. Chad Gaudin relieved Koehler in the top of the sixth inning. Two batters in, Davis cracked a solo home run to left field on the first pitch for his 32nd homer and extended the Mets lead to 4-0.

The new morning show with Marc Hochman and Jonathan Zaslow has lost traction since it began in early August. As the flagship station of the Miami Marlins, the team had long been out of contention for a playoff spot.

WAXY had a 1.6 rating back in June and has lost more than half their audience since then. Lincoln Financial Media bought WMSF-FM in Palm Beach County in the end of August and decided to flip the format to an FM simulcast of the station as 104.3 The Ticket. The new morning show with Marc Hochman and Jonathan Zaslow has lost traction since it began in early August. As the flagship station of the Miami Marlins, the team had long been out of contention for a playoff spot.
940 The Sports Animal WINZ-AM showed improvement going from a 0.3 to a 0.4 in September. The bump in the ratings is due to the beginning of the regular season for the Miami Dolphins. They are the flagship station for that team.

Marlins Win In Extra Innings
Adam Greenberg made his first major league appearance in seven years as the Miami Marlins took the New York Mets 4-3 in 11 innings on Tuesday night at Marlins Park. He struck out as a pinch-hitter for Bryan Petersen during the sixth inning. Greenberg was hit by a pitch in his only other plate appearance while he played for the Chicago Cubs against the Marlins back in July 2005.
R.A. Dickey started for New York and allowed three runs on seven hits in six innings. He also struck out eight Marlins. Jacob Turner went 7 2/3 innings for the Fish and surrendered one run on three hits.
Dickey gave up home runs in two straight innings. Gorkys Hernandez blasted a solo home run into left field on a 2-1 pitch with one out in the fourth inning. It was Hernandez's third homer this season. Rob Brantly led off the fifth inning and pounded a solo homer to right field on a 1-0 count for his third home run of the year.
The Marlins pulled off a two-out rally to extend their lead 3-0 in the sixth inning. Reyes and Giancarlo Stanton both had base hits to left-center field. Carlos Lee drove Reyes in with a single into right field.
New York placed three runs and tied the game in the eighth inning. Jordany Valdespin scored on a David Wright single to right with two out off Heath Bell. After Ike Davis walked to load the bases, Daniel Murphy added another run on a wild pitch and Wright scored on an infield single by Scott Hairston.
Donovan Solano brought in the winning run with a two-out bases loaded single to center field off Collin McHugh. Reyes crossed the plate to end the game.

Marlins Edge Mets
The Miami Marlins came back from a two-run deficit as they got by the New York Mets 3-2 at Marlins Park on Monday night. Heath Bell(4-5) pitched a scoreless eighth inning for the victory and Steve Cishek got his 15th save of the season.
Wade LeBlanc went five innings for the Marlins and allowed one run on seven hits while Mets starter Jeurys Familia gave up only one hit in four innings.
New York put up one run each in the fifth and sixth innings. David Wright knocked in Ronny Cedeno from third with one out in the fifth on a base hit into center field. Mike Baxter pinched-hit in the sixth inning with one out against Tom Koehler and came up with a double to right field which brought in Kelly Shoppach.
Giancarlo Stanton led off the bottom of the sixth with a solo home run on the first pitch to left-center field off Manny Acosta. It was Stanton's 37th homer of the season. The Marlins tied the game at 2-2 in the seventh inning as Austin Kearns scored on a sacrifice fly by former Met Jose Reyes to center field off Jon Rauch.

CBS Sports Radio To WQAM
Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM will add syndicated shows of the CBS Sports Radio Network as of January 2. WQAM has carried Yahoo! Sports Radio and its predecessor Sporting News Radio overnights and on weekends for several years. It has been confirmed that the station will add Ferrall On The Bench with Scott Ferrall during late nights from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m beginning January.
Ferrall had three previous stints with WQAM, two of which were nationally syndicated. He hosted Ferrall On The Bench at Westwood One from 1995 until 1999. He was also a late night host at Sportsfan Radio Network from 2000 until April 2001. Ferrall became a local mid-morning host at WQAM for several months around 2005. He was sandwiched between the Howard David Show and the Neil Rogers Show.

He currently hosts an evening show at Sirius XM Radio on the Howard Stern Channel where he has been since 2006. Prior to that, Ferrall was the mid-morning host on Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM for less than a year. He was sandwiched between the Howard David Show and the Neil Rogers Show.
WQAM had twice picked up his show while he was nationally syndicated. He hosted the late night show Ferrall On The Bench on Westwood One, then a CBS company, from 1995 until 1999. Ferrall was fired after he agreed to become the radio play-by-play announcer of the Atlanta Thrashers of the NHL. He was let go following a one-year tenure with the team. He joined Sportsfan Radio Network in 2000 as a late night host and worked there until he did the network's final show on April 23, 2001.
