Cory Stillman Retires
Former Florida Panthers right wing Cory Stillman announced his retirement from the NHL on Saturday at the Panthers practice facility in Coral Springs. Stillman played with Florida from 2008-09 until late last season when he was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes. In his time with the Panthers he had 39 goals and 70 assists in 165 games played. Stillman won two Stanley Cup championships in consecutive seasons. One with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2003-04, his only season with the team. Following the league lockout that cancelled the 2004-05 season, he joined the Carolina Hurricanes and won the title in 2005-06. Stillman will join the Florida Panthers hockey operations department as a player development assistant under Brian Skrudland.
