The Miami Dolphins fired head coach Tony Sparano on Monday. He was hired by the team prior to the 2008 season. Sparano led the team to the AFC East division title in his first season with an 11-5 record. The Dolphins tied an NFL record as they picked up ten wins more than the previous season. Miami would fall to 7-9 and into third place in 2009 and 2010. Sparano, whose team lost their first eight games in 2011, had won four straight until they lost on Sunday at home against the Philadelphia Eagles.
