Former Miami Dolphins running back Ricky Williams announced his retirement from the NFL on Tuesday. He played this past season with the Baltimore Ravens who won the AFC North Division title. It was also the only time a team with him on the squad won a playoff game. The former Heisman Trophy winner from the University of Texas was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in 1999. He was traded to the Miami Dolphins in 2002 and led the NFL in rushing yards that year. Williams never reached up to his potential that he had while in college football.
