The Miami Marlins game against the Washington Nationals was postponed on Sunday. It was called by the umpire crew several hours prior to the 1:05 p.m. start. A large storm front was to approach Washington D.C. and was not expected to let up for the rest of the day. Another consideration was that the Nationals were to begin a west-coast swing in San Diego on Tuesday.
The game will be made up later this season as the Marlins will return to the area two other times. The next game for Miami will be at Citi Field in Flushing, New York on Tuesday night as they face the New York Mets.
