Wrestlemania 28
Wrestlemania 28 was held at Sun Life Stadium in front of over 78,000 in attendance on Sunday. The main event involved The Rock, movie actor Dwayne Johnson, against John Cena. It was a return for The Rock in singles action for the first time since 2004. The bout was announced one year in advance back in April 2011, one day after Wrestlemania 27 in Atlanta. The Rock was able to prevail in front of his adopted hometown of Miami. Cena has been the primary top-billed wrestler in World Wrestling Entertainment for the better half of ten years. The Undertaker was able to keep his undefeated streak intact at Wrestlemania as he extended his record to an astounding 20-0. He pinned Triple H in a Hell In A Cell Match what had been billed as an end of an era. Former wrestler Shawn Michaels was the special guest referee. C.M. Punk retained the WWE Heavyweight Championship as he beat Chris Jericho. Sheamus took the World Heavyweight title from Daniel Bryan in just 18 seconds. The Big Show knocked out Cody Rhodes to win the Intercontinental Championship. Kane got the victory over Randy Orton. Wresltmania 29 will be held at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey next April.
