Pat Cummings, an original member of the Miami Heat, died on Tuesday at the age of 55. He also played for the Milwaukee Bucks, Dallas Mavericks, New York Knicks and Utah Jazz. Cummings joined the Heat in 1988-89 as a free agent and stayed there for two seasons. He played in 90 games and averaged just over seven points a game. Cummings scored 15 points for the first win in Miami Heat history as they defeated the Los Angeles Clippers . It snapped an NBA record of 17 consecutive losses to begin a season.
