The Florida Panthers have signed right wing Kris Versteeg to a new four-year contract on Monday. He played 71 games with the team last season and got a career-high 23 goals and 54 points. Versteeg helped the franchise win the Southeast Division in 2011-12 for their first division title in franchise history. In addition, the Panthers appeared in the NHL playoffs for the first time since 1999-2000. Versteeg was acquired from the Philadelphia Flyers in July 2011 and won a Stanley Cup with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2009-10.
