The Atlanta Braves came out strong and walloped the Miami Marlins 6-1 on Thursday night at Turner Field. The Bravos got to Nathan Eovaldi(2-7) early as he allowed six runs on eight hits in two innings pitched. The game was delayed in the fourth inning for 42 minutes due to rain, however the Marlins were unfortunate that the game was not postponed.

Johnson and Heyward scored on a double to deep left-center field by Chipper Jones. Three batters later, Dan Uggla knocked in Jones with a single to left.
The Braves added to their lead in the second inning. Michael Bourn singled to right then Johnson was hit by a pitch. Heyward singled to left field as Bourn scored. Freddie Freeman doubled to deep right field two batters later and brought in Johnson along with Heyward.
Jose Reyes extended his hit streak to 20 games with a lead-off triple to deep left field in the sixth inning. Carlos Lee broke the shutout with a sacrifice fly into right to score Reyes. The Marlins travel to Washington and play a doubleheader on Friday against the Nationals.
