The Miami Heat had the lead throughout the entire game as they beat the Phoenix Suns 124-99 at American Airlines Arena on Monday night. They remained undefeated at home after three games this season.
Miami(4-0) scored the first four points of the game on their way to a 10-2 spurt three minutes in. They led 34-25 after one quarter and extended their margin to 17 points with 4:22 left in the second quarter. Phoenix(1-3) was down 65-53 at halftime.
The Suns pulled to within eight points 67-59 three minutes into the second half. Miami then went on a 31-15 run and headed into the fourth quarter with a comfortable 98-74 lead. The Heat increased their lead to 30 points midway through the fourth quarter.
All the Heat starters did not put in major minutes due to the blowout. LeBron James had 23 points and 11 rebounds in 30 minutes while Dwyane Wade played in 28 minutes and poured in 22 points with six assists.
Chris Bosh contributed 18 points in 25 minutes, Ray Allen scored 15 points in 28 minutes and Udonis Haslem had a season-high 12 points as he came off the bench.
Suns reserve Shannon Brown had 18 points and new teammate Luis Scola added 15 points in 33 minutes. Former Heat player Michael Beasley only put up seven points in 29 minutes of play.
