The Miami Heat picked up their 18th straight victory in easy fashion as they bashed the Indiana Pacers 105-91 on Sunday at American Airlines Arena. Both teams had the two best records in the Eastern Conference as they entered this game. The Heat improved their home record to 29-3.
Miami(47-14) got a 16-6 spurt at the end of the first quarter to lead 29-20. Indiana(39-24) closed the margin down to two points at 46-44 with 2;54 left in the second half. The Heat ended the second quarter on a 10-2 rally and led 56-46 at halftime.
The Heat extended their lead up to 24 points on a 22-22 run and were ahead 79-56 with 3:20 left in the third quarter. They were ahead 79-65 after the period. The Pacers were behind by more than double digits for the entire fourth quarter as Miami cruised to the win.
Mario Chalmers turned out to be the leading scorer for the Heat as he had 26 points and seven rebounds in 33 minutes. Chris Bosh dropped down 24 points in 33 minutes and Dwyane Wade nailed 23 points with six steals in 36 minutes. LeBron James put up 13 points, seven assists and six rebounds in 36 minutes.
David West led Indiana with 24 points, five rebounds and four steals in 34 minutes while Roy Hilbert knocked down 16 points in 32 minutes. D.J. Augustin got 14 points in 24 minutes and Paul George had 10 points and six rebounds in 41 minutes.
