The Miami Heat played their first preseason game as beat the Atlanta Hawks 92=87 on Monday night at American Airlines Arena. The Heat, who led the game from wire-to-wire, returned to South Florida after having their training camp in The Bahamas for one week.
Many of the Heat regular starters saw limited time in this game with the exception of Dwyane Wade who did not participate in the contest. Chris Bosh led with a team-high 21 points along with five rebounds in 20 minutes while LeBron James added nine points, five assists and five rebounds in 21 minutes. Roger Mason Jr. led all Miami(1-0) bench scorers with 14 points and a team-high six rebounds in 27 minutes of play. Rashard Lewis dropped down 11 points in 19 minutes.
Paul Millsap was the leading scorer among starters for Atlanta(0-1) with 12 points in 24 minutes. Al Horford barely fell short of a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds in 26 minutes while Mike Scott came off the bench and drained in 13 points.
