The Park Vista Cobras visit the Palm Beach Central Broncos in Wellington on Friday night for the District 10-8A title. Both schools represented District 10 in the FHSAA playoffs last year and lost in the regional quarterfinals.
Park Vista(7-1, 4-0) have won seven consecutive times since they lost their road opener in Cincinnati against Colerain. They are in first place in the district and clinched a playoff spot last week with a 27-8 road win over the Boca Raton Bobcats. The Cobras have outscored their district opponents 149-29
Quarterback Qwad Martin will set things up on offense with their running and passing attack. They will use running backs Emmanuel Smith, Jametrius Bentley, Dalton Barkman and Chauncey Mason in a variety of ways which include power sweeps and screen passes. Look for Martin to throw passes to receivers Renard Cheren, Anthony Milanese, Marques Gayot and Ellison Young.
Palm Beach Central(5-3, 3-1) began the regular season losing their first two games along with falling in three of their first four contests. The Broncos, presently second place in the district, are currently on a four-game winning streak heading into this critical matchup.
They have running back Tommy McDonald, who is the leading rusher in Palm Beach County, along with Langston Canady in the backfield. The Broncos will use two different quarterbacks to run their plays with Kemar Downer and Kevin Bramhall.
