The Baseball Writers Association of America(BBWAA) announced on Thursday that Dan Le Batard would no longer be allowed a ballot to vote former players into the Baseball Hall Of Fame. In addition, he would not be allowed to represent the media at a stadium for a major league baseball game for the 2014 season.
This decision was made based on the situation that Le Batard gave his hall of fame ballot for free to Deadspin.com so they could vote on player candidates. The story broke just hours after Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine and Frank Thomas were announced as the newest members of the Baseball Hall Of Fame on Wednesday.
Le Batard has been a sports writer with the Miami Herald since 1990. He has hosted the afternoon show with Jon Weiner, a.k.a. Stugotz, since August 2004 on 790 The Ticket WAXY-AM. Their show was recently picked up for national syndication by ESPN Radio in September 2013. Le Batard has also hosted a television show called Highly Questionable on ESPN for several years.
