The Florida Panthers were shut out by the Los Angeles Kings 4-0 on Saturday at Staples Center. Roberto Luongo was in net for the Cats and lost for the fourth time this season to the Kings. The Cats have lost six of their last eight games.
The first period belonged to Los Angeles(40-25-6) as they got out to a 2-0 lead. Trevor Lewis scored on a snap shot at 11:03 and Mike Richards added a tally with a wrist shot at 17:16.
They extended their margin to 3-0 over Florida(26-37-8) at 8:54 into the second period as Kings captain Dustin Brown scored on a wrist shot from close range for his 13th goal of the season. Alec Martinez made it a four-goal cushion for Los Angeles with 8:01 remaining in the third period with a power-play goal.
