The Fort Lauderdale Strikers will be playing in the 2014 Soccer Bowl for the NASL championship on Saturday night against the Scorpions in San Antonio. The team won their NASL semifinal game at Minnesota United this past weekend.
It will be the first appearance for the rebranded Strikers franchise in the modern Soccer Bowl. Fort Lauderdale was in the North American Soccer League championship game one previous time when they fell to the New York Cosmos 3-0 in 1980 at RFK Stadium in Washington D.C.
A statement was made on Monday that SoFloRadio.com will broadcast the Soccer Bowl on its website. It will be the first time that the organization will announce a Strikers game on the road. SoFloRadio.com has held the streaming rights of the Fort Lauderdale Strikers for the last two years. Bruce Silverman will be the play-by-play announcer for the game.
The broadcast will be LIVE from Toyota Field in San Antonio. There will be pregame and post game shows along with the 2014 Soccer Bowl broadcast. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Please email bruce@silvermanonsports.com for details. Go Strikers!
