The Florida Panthers were swept over the weekend as they compiled only two goals in two road games. They were defeated by the Ottawa Senators 4-1 on Saturday night and lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-1 on Sunday night.
The Panthers jumped on the Sens in the first period when Aleksander Barkov scored 7:38 into the game. Ottawa took over and put in four unanswered goals to increase their margin.
It was totally different contest on Sunday in which the Cats surrendered five consecutive goals to the Pens. They were down 1-0 until Pittsburgh scored again with 27 seconds left in the second period by Evgeni Malkin. The Penguins added three more goals in the first nine minutes of the third period then Scottie Upshall got his seventh tally of the season with 7:37 to go.
