Washington outfielder Bryce Harper had a career day on Wednesday as he smashed three home runs for a 7-5 Nationals victory over the Miami Marlins at Nationals Park. Miami(13-15) heads out west to play four games against the defending World Series champion San Francisco Giants this weekend.
Harper homered in his first three at-bats then flew out during the seventh inning. He was trying to be the first player in major league baseball to hit four home runs in a game since Josh Hamilton did it for the Texas Rangers against the Baltimore Orioles on May 8, 2012.
