Sid Rosenberg morning show executive producer Erik Lengyel has been let go by 640 Sports WMEN-AM due to budget cuts. Rosenberg was also eliminated as a cost-cutting move. The station has been operated by three different corporations in the past calendar year.
Lengyel had the longest tenure of any employee at 640 Sports and was there when the station flipped to a sports talk format in March 2008. He started as a morning producer and a board operator on the Jeff DeForrest Show. He held the same position as others took over to host morning drive which included Armando Salguero, Larry Milian, Chris Perkins and Marc Eisenberg. Lengyel eventually added duties as morning sports anchor and then weekend co-host in January 2012.
He shifted to midday sports anchor and contributed as a producer for shows hosted by Troy Stradford and Andy Slater when Rosenberg began at 640 Sports in August 2012. Lengyel returned back to mornings one month later and had a three-year reign in that spot. He one time worked as a game analyst alongside Adam Baron on Broward County high school football games at WWNN-AM for several years earlier this decade.
