The Miami Dolphins have acquired linebacker Kiko Alonso, defensive back Byron Maxwell and the 13th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft from the Philadelphia Eagles for the 2016 eighth overall draft pick.
Alonso was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the 2nd round of the 2013 NFL Draft as the 46th overall selection. He played all 16 games of the Bills in 2013 and had 87 solo tackles along with four interceptions. After missing the entire 2014 season due to an injury, he was traded by the club in March 2015 to the Philadelphia Eagles for running LeSean McCoy. Alonso had 30 solo tackles in 11 games with the Eagles last season.
Maxwell was picked up by the Seattle Seahawks at the 2011 NFL Draft during the 6th round. He stayed in Seattle for four seasons and helped the franchise win their first Super Bowl title in 2013 with a victory over the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 48. They lost Super Bowl 49 the following year against the New England Patriots after they won the NFC Championship for a second consecutive season. Maxwell joined the Eagles in 2015 and had 53 solo tackles along with two interceptions in 11 games.
