Dwyane Wade became the 41th player in NBA history to score 20,000 points as the Miami Heat breezed by the Cleveland Cavaliers 122-101 at American Airlines Arena on Saturday night. The Heat have four consecutive home victories by double digits over the Cavs since LeBron James returned for his second stint with Cleveland(49-20).
Miami(40-29) jumped out to a 31-19 lead after one quarter and were up 65-44 by halftime. The Heat led the contest from wire-to-wire and were ahead 98-70 by the end of the third quarter.
Wade was the leading scorer for Miami with 24 points and Joe Johnson drained in 18 points. The Heat had two double-doubles as Hassan Whiteside contributed with 16 points and 13 rebounds while Goran Dragic compiled 18 points and 11 assists.
James led Cleveland in scoring with 26 points in 27 minutes of play while Kyrie Irving added 14 points. Richard Jefferson dropped in 20 points as he came off the bench.
