The Stranahan Dragons went on the road and surprised the Plantation Colonels 14-7 in a spring football game on Thursday night at PAL Field. Both schools had their defenses dominate the contest as all the scoring was done in the first half.
Stranahan was able to strike during their second possession of the game on the final play of the first quarter with no time remaining. Quarterback Marquel Dillard found wide receiver Kenneth Peyton all by himself on the right sideline for a 67-yard touchdown reception to make it 7-0.
The Colonels had the ball deep in Dragons territory until cornerback Ginial Isma intercepted a pass and returned it 95 yards for a score with 54.7 seconds left in the second quarter and extended their margin to 14-0.
Plantation waited until the final play of the first half to get on the scoreboard. Quarterback Rodski Salaam fired a pass 25 yards downfield to the middle of the end zone where wide receiver Ja'Mari Sweet caught it and cut the lead to 14-7.
