Former local sportscaster Jason Pugh has left his position as a sports anchor and sports reporter at WRC-TV in Washington D.C. after four years in that organization. He had previously worked in the Palm Beach County media market both in radio and television.
Pugh, a Florida Atlantic University grad, once played college football as a linebacker for the school and eventually went into broadcasting. He joined ESPN 760 WEFL-AM as an intern when they flipped to a sports talk format in 2003. Pugh added duties as a producer in 2006 and became an on-air contributor in 2007.
He was promoted to evening show co-host with Jeremy Marks-Peltz in 2010 and also announced high school football games as a game analyst with Ken LaVicka and Marks-Peltz through 2011. Pugh also was elevated to game analyst for Florida Atlantic University football games and held that spot until the end of the 2012 season.
Pugh added television work as a sports anchor at WPTV-TV Channel 5 and WFLX-TV Channel 29 in West Palm Beach for several years. He left South Florida in December 2012 for a television sportscaster position in Washington D.C. where he joined former West Palm Beach television sports anchor Dan Hellie.
