The Florida Panthers had three players with their franchise announced for the top 100 players in National Hockey League history on Friday in Los Angeles. Players that were listed included Pavel Bure, Joe Nieuwendyk and Jaromir Jagr. The Panthers first general manager Bobby Clarke and current television game analyst Denis Potvin were also mentioned.
Bure was acquired by the Panthers from Vancouver during the 1998-99 season. He led the NHL in goals for two consecutive seasons with over 50 goals and received the first two Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophies. Bure also helped Florida make their third playoff appearance in 1999-2000.
Nieuwendyk signed with the Panthers as a free agent following the NHL lockout to start the 2005-06 seasons. He played his last two seasons in the league with the club before he retired.
Jagr was traded by the New Jersey Devils to Florida during the 2014-15 season. He helped the Panthers win the Atlantic Division title in 2015-16. Jagr has climbed the all-time list for most goals, assists, points and games played in NHL history in his three seasons with the team.
