The Miami Heat played their final regular season game ever at The Palace Of Auburn Hills and slipped by the Detroit Pistons 97-96 on Tuesday night. The Pistons are moving to downtown Detroit and play at Little Caesars Arena next season.
Both clubs were tied 24-24 after one quarter and Miami(36-38) was able to get up 55-50 by halftime. Detroit(34-41) fell behind more 78-69 after three quarters. The Pistons did not regain the lead until 45 seconds left in the fourth quarter when they completed a 25-14 run. The Heat went on a 5-2 spurt in the final 30 seconds capped with a tip-in by Hassan Whiteside with no time remaining.
Goran Dragic had a game-high 28 points for the Heat while Whiteside added 17 points and nine rebounds. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope got a team-high 25 points for the Pistons.
