The Florida Panthers were shut out by the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-0 at PPG Paints Arena on Sunday. It ended a three-game road trip for the Panthers who have lost 10 of their last 13 games.
Sidney Crosby finished with a natural hat trick against the Cats. Jaromir Jagr played in his 1,700th NHL game which in fourth all-time.
Florida(31-29-11) gave up the opening goal with 3:46 left in the first period. Phil Kessel flipped the puck from behind the Panthers cage into the crease area and Patric Hornqvist batted it in.
Pittsburgh(45-17-9) got two goals by Crosby in the second period at 14:15 and 16:07. Conor Sheary and Nick Guentzel got the assists on both tallies.
Crosby nailed his third goal of the game and 40th of the season at the 5:00 mark. Guentzel and Sheary both compiled their third assists of the contest.
