The Miami Marlins fell to the Philadelphia Phillies 3-2 at Citizens Bank Ballpark on Thursday. It completed the longest mileage road trip in Marlins franchise history.
Philadelphia(11-9) moved out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Daniel Nava was able to score on a Dee Gordon throwing error. The Phils made a two-run margin in the bottom of the third when Freddy Galvis crossed the plate on a ground out by Odubel Herrera to second.
Miami(10-10) cut the margin to 2-1 in the sixth inning. J.T. Realmuto singled into left field to drive in Giancarlo Stanton.
The Phillies responded in the bottom of the frame. Brock Stassi ripped a triple to right and brought in Michael Saunders on the play.
The Marlins picked up one more run in the next inning. Adeiny Hechavarria scored on a base hit to center by Christian Yelich.
