There were major changes on the sports talk radio scene of Palm Beach County in the month of March for Fox Sports South Florida 640 WMEN-AM. ESPN West Palm 106.3 WUUB-FM remained stable during this time period, although they do not subscribe to a ratings service.
Fox Sports 640 ended their only local weekday show one week into the ratings period. They let go Joe Raineri and Steve Zemach from the morning show which they hosted since January 2016. The station dropped for the second straight month as they went from a 0.5 to a 0.4 in March. WMEN has lost half of their audience since November 2016 when they registered a 0.8 at that time.
The station had carried the Florida Panthers Radio Network for the entire season as an affiliate and the club was eliminated from playoff contention at the end of the month. They also did not broadcast any New York Yankees exhibition games like they have since the 2008 season. WMEN will not be part of the New York Yankees Radio Network for the 2017 season.
