The Miami Marlins returned home from a six-game west coast road trip with a 8-5 victory over the Los Angeles Angels at Marlins Park on Friday night. The Fish have won three of their last five games. It was the first appearance ever by the Angels at Marlins Park.
Miami(17-29) broke out to a 2-0 lead during the first inning. Giancarlo Stanton blasted a two-run homer to center field for his 12th home run of the season.
Los Angeles(25-26) put up a couple of run in the top of the sixth inning. Albert Pujols doubled down the left-field line then later Martin Maldonado hit a two-run home run.
The Marlins extended their lead in the bottom of the frame. Justin Bour ripped a three-run homer to right field for his 13th of the year. It was his fifth home run in the past seven games.
