The Miami Dolphins have signed quarterback Jay Cutler to a one-year, $10 million contract. He was brought in after starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill injured himself at practice several days ago.
Cutler retired from the Chicago Bears following the 2016 NFL season and joined Fox Sports as an NFL game analyst. He was to make his broadcast debut in a couple of weeks.
He made his NFL debut in 2006 with the Denver Broncos and played there for three seasons. Cutler was traded by the Broncos to the Chicago Bears prior to the 2009 NFL season. He spent eight seasons with the Bears where he has the franchise record for career pass completions, passing yards, passing attempts and touchdown passes. Cutler, who passed for 1,059 yards and four touchdowns in 2016, also has the Bears record for most completions and pass attempts in a season.
