The Florida State University Seminoles travel south to West Palm Beach and challenge the Oxbridge Academy Thunderwolves in a Class 3A state semifinal at William H. Pitt Stadium on Friday night. The winner of the contest will face either Chaminade-Madonna or Clearwater Central Catholic in the Class 3A title game at Camping World Stadium in Orlando on December 9.
Oxbridge Academy(9-1) have won nine consecutive games and lost their opening game to Archbishop Wood in Orlando by one point. The Thunderwolves beat Kings Academy 42-7 in a regional semifinal and downed Melbourne Central Catholic 32-7 last week in a regional final. They have outscored their opponents 379-53 this year with averaged 37 points for and five points against per game.
The Thunderwolves generate yardage from their rushing game with running back James Meeks and Luis Gonzalez in the backfield. Quarterback Gio Richardson will look for wide receivers V'Lique Carter, Keidron Smith, De' John King, Carlos Silencieux and C.J. Smith downfield.
