The Miami Heat continued their long road trip with a 84-74 victory over the Utah Jazz on Friday night. It was the fifth game of a six-game road swing for the club and they conclude it on Sunday with their first visit ever to Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.
Miami(6-6) would get out to a 25-22 lead after one quarter. It did not last as Utah(5-7) outscored the Heat 27-12 in the second quarter and were ahead by double digits 49-37 at halftime. The Heat answered back with a 18-7 run and held the Jazz to eight points in the third quarter to tie it up 57-57. Miami was able to pull away in the fourth quarter with a 27-17 spurt.
Dion Waiter put in a team-high 21 points for the Heat. Goran Dragic added 18 points while Hassan Whiteside compiled eight points and 20 rebounds. Rodney Hood drained 19 points for Utah while Rudy Gobert stacked up a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
