The Denver Nuggets edged the Miami Heat 95-94 at Pepsi Center on Friday night. It was the first game of a long six-game road trip for Miami. The Heat, who have lost four of their last five games, had not played a road game since their season opener in Orlando on October 18.
Miami(3-5) blasted out to a 37-28 lead after one quarter and were still up 58-51 at halftime. Denver(5-4) outscored the Heat 25-13 in the third quarter and took the lead 76-71. Miami kept it close during the fourth quarter and were up 94-92. Paul Millsap was fouled taking a three-point shot and converted on three free throws with 11.6 seconds left.
Goran Dragic had a team-high 23 points along with seven assists for the Heat. James Johnson compiled a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds while Dion Waiters added 15 points. Millsap drained a game-high 27 points with nine rebounds and five assists for Denver.
