15 South Florida high schools advanced to the third round of the 2017 FHSAA playoffs. There were 24 representatives heading into the second round.
Palm Beach County dropped from seven schools to three schools. Atlantic, Oxbridge Academy and Pahokee advanced. Dwyer, Park Vista, Palm Beach Central and Benjamin lost.
Broward County slightly went down from seven teams to six teams. St. Thomas Aquinas, American Heritage, Cardinal Gibbons, University School, Chaminade-Madonna and Western won while West Broward fell.
Dade County had 10 schools and moved down to six schools. Miami Northwestern, Carol City, Columbus, Doral Academy, Miami and Champagnat Catholic got to the third round. Miami Central, Southridge, South Dade and Monsignor Pace were eliminated.
