The Miami Heat blew a 24-point lead and were defeated by the Philadelphia 76ers 104-102 on Wednesday night at Wells Fargo Center. The Heat have fallen in seven of their last eight games as they head into the NBA All-Star Game break.
Miami(30-28) had a 29-20 advantage after one quarter and expanded their lead to 62-39 by halftime. Philadelphia(30-25) chopped at the deficit and trailed 81-73 after three quarters. The Sixers outscored the Heat 31-21 in the fourth to take the victory.
James Johnson had a game-high 22 points for the Heat while Goran Dragic added 18 points. Hassan Whiteside completed a double-double of 16 points with 10 rebounds and Dwyane Wade dropped in eight points. Ben Simmons piled on a triple-double of 18 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists for the 76ers. Dario Saric put up a team-high 19 points and J.J. Redick poured in 14 points.
