The Miami Heat hosted Game 3 of the first round at American Airlines Arena and lost to the Philadelphia 76ers 128-108 on Thursday night. The Sixers now have a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series. 76ers center Joel Embiid played in his first playoff game of his career.
It was an explosive high-scoring first quarter as Philadelphia had a 37-33 advantage. Miami bounced back and had a 64-63 lead at halftime. The contest remained close as the Sixers were up 96-94 after three quarters. The 76ers went on a 9-1 spurt to begin the fourth and never surrendered the lead again.
The Heat were led by Goran Dragic as he had a game-high 23 points and eight assists. Justice Winslow contributed a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds while Josh Richardson added 14. Embiid had 23 points and seven rebounds for Philadelphia while Marco Belinelli drained in 21 points. Ben Simmons fell short of a triple-double with 19 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists.
