The Miami Marlins blanked the Colorado Rockies 3-0 on Sunday at Marlins Park. The Fish have won four of their last five games. Colorado(15-14) will continue their nine-game road trip with stops in Chicago and New York.
In the second inning, Miami(9-18) would get on the scoreboard. Lewis Brinson faced Chad Bettis and drove in Brian Anderson with a base hit into right field.
The Marlins made it 2-0 in the bottom of the fourth. Miguel Rojas came up with two out and smacked a solo home run to left field on the first pitch.
The Fish extended the gap to 3-0 in the eighth inning. Starlin Castro delivered a sacrifice fly to right field for Bryan Holaday to score. Marlins starting pitcher Caleb Smith went seven innings, struck out nine and gave up no runs on two hits for the victory.
