The Miami Marlins defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-5 on Tuesday night at Marlins Park. The Dodgers losing streak is now at six games. The Marlins complete their seven-game home stand on Thursday afternoon.
Unlike in his major league starting debut last month, Miami(16-26) was able to get a run against Dodgers starting pitcher Walker Buehler. Brian Anderson got a base hit up the middle into center field for Martin Prado to score with two out in the first inning.
The Marlins expanded their lead to 2-0 in the bottom of the third. Starlin Castro singled to center for Prado to cross the plate.
In the fourth inning, Los Angeles(16-26) chalked up one run versus Marlins starting pitcher Elieser Hernandez and closed the gap to 2-1. Yasmani Grandal led off and crushed a 3-2 pitch over the center-field wall for his seventh home run of the season.
The Fish put some distance between them and their opponent during the bottom of the fifth. Justin Bour sliced a two-run home run to left field on a 3-2 count with Castro scoring in front of him. It was his ninth round-tripper of the year. Miguel Rojas later hit a sacrifice fly into right-center field for Anderson to score and made it 5-1.
The Dodgers get on the scoreboard four times in the sixth inning to tie it up 5-5. Grandal lined a single to right-center field for Joc Pederson to score from third. Chris Taylor came up next and cracked a single into right field for Grandal to score. Max Muncy capped the frame with a ground-rule double that went over the right-center field fence which brought in Cody Bellinger and Taylor.
Miami responded and regained the lead in the bottom of the sixth against Pedro Baez. J.T. Realmuto lifted a solo home run to left on a 1-2 pitch.
