The Miami Marlins edged the Baltimore Orioles 5-4 on Saturday at Camden Yards. The Fish have been victorious in seven of their last 11 games.
In the first inning, the Marlins moved out to a 1-0 lead. J.T. Realmuto knocked in Derek Dietrich with a base hit into left field. J.T. Riddle would score on a ground out by J.B. Schuck in the top of the second.
Miami(28-43) made it a four-run gap in the third inning. Realmuto pounded a two-run home to left-center field on the first pitch. Brian Anderson scored in front of him on the play.
Baltimore(19-50) cut into the deficit during the bottom of the third. Manny Machado drove in Austin Wynns and Adam Jones on a single to right field.
The Fish put up another run in the top of the sixth for a 5-2 margin. Realmuto connected with his second home run of the contest. This time it was on a 3-1 count to center field.
The O's attempted to make a comeback. Jonathan Schoop nailed a solo homer to left field on a 3-1 pitch in the bottom of the sixth. They made it 5-4 in the seventh inning as Machado crossed the plate on a base hit to right by Danny Valencia.
