The Park Vista Cobras host the Class 8A state finalist Atlantic Eagles on Friday night at GL Homes Stadium in a District 10 contest. Both schools have represented the district in the FHSAA playoffs in the last couple of years.
Atlantic(3-0, 0-0) are involved in their first district game of the season following a bye last week. The Eagles had three victories over contending postseason teams as they defeated Palm Beach Central 14-0, Dwyer 30-13 and Pahokee 35-21.
Quarterback Kalani Ilimaleoata calls the signals on offense for the Eagles. He will try to find wide receivers Kam Williams, Tyrese Blue and Tyler Burke on passes. Atlantic relies on their defense with defensive backs Javone Jackson, Deandre McCray and Kael Williams along with defensive lineman Henry Bryant.
Park Vista(2-2, 1-0) had a sluggish start as they played three of the first four contests on the road to begin the season. They lost at Dwyer 40-0, blanked West Boca Raton 31-0, were defeated at home by Wellington 14-8 and stopped Lake Worth 45-6.
The Cobras depend on their rushing attack as running back Nick King will get more of the carries followed by Joshua Jean. They have a group of wide receivers with Aydin Henningham, Mason Proch and Lucas Deininger getting the ball from quarterback Tyler Thomas.
