The Miami Marlins lost to the Washington Nationals 4-2 on Tuesday night at Marlins Park. The defeat snapped a two-game win streak for the Fish. The Marlins have been on the losing side in eight of their last 11 games.
The Nationals gathered two runs in the second inning. Adam Eaton singled to right field for Matt Wieters to score. Trea Turner later got an infield hit for Wilmer Difo to cross the plate.
Miami(59-92) got their first run in the bottom of the frame. Peter O'Brien nailed a solo home run to left field on a 2-0 count.
Washington(77-75) regained a two-run margin during the top of the fourth. Anthony Rendon hit a sacrifice fly to right and Eaton scored.
The Marlins made it 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth. J.T. Realmuto knocked in J.T. Riddle on a single into right field.
The Nats answered back quickly in the sixth inning. Turner was able to score on a base hit by Rendon to right.
