The Miami Heat welcomed the New York Knicks and won 110-87 at American Airlines Arena on Wednesday night. The Heat picked up their first victory at home this season.
Miami(2-2) began the contest up 13-8, however New York(1-4) scored 14 unanswered points to go up 27-16 after one quarter. The Heat took control of the second quarter and led 47-45 at halftime. The Knicks were outscored 35-14 in the third quarter and trailed 91-65. They were able to cut the deficit down to 20 points 98-78 with six minutes to go in the fourth.
Hassan Whiteside put together a double-double with a game-high 22 points and 14 rebounds. Josh Richardson had 21 points and Rodney McGruder got 19 for the Heat. Goran Dragic poured in 13 points and Kelly Olynyk drained in 11 points. Damyean Dotson led the Knicks with a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds. Tim Hardaway Jr. was able to contribute 14 points for New York.
