The Miami Dolphins have signed quarterback Jake Rudock to a deal. It is considered a reserve/futures contract. He was released by the Detroit Lions last week.
Rudock played high school football with the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders. He started at quarterback and helped the team win the 2010 FHSAA Class 5A state championship against Plant.
He spent his first three years with the University of Iowa Hawkeyes and his final year with the University of Michigan Wolverines. Rudock was the Most Valuable Player for Michigan against the Florida Gators at the 2016 Citrus Bowl in Orlando.
Rudock was drafted by the Lions in the 2016 NFL Draft during the sixth round. He was a backup quarterback for three games with Detroit in 2017. Rudock had three completions for 24 yards and no touchdowns.
