Former University of Miami Hurricanes safety Ed Reed was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday. He will be inducted in August.
Reed played for four seasons with the Hurricanes. He helped the school win their fifth national championship in January 2002 with a 37-14 blowout victory over the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers at the Rose Bowl.
He joined the Baltimore Ravens in the 2002 NFL Draft as the 23rd overall pick. Reed captured Super Bowl XLVII in February 2013 alongside former Canes linebacker Ray Lewis as they defeated the San Francisco 49ers 34-31.
