Former Florida Panthers right wing Kris Versteeg has signed a contract to finish the 2018-19 season with the Vaxjo Lakers in the Swedish Hockey League. He played 11 games earlier this season with the Avangard Omsk in the KHL.
Versteeg played three seasons with the Florida Panthers and helped the team win their first division title in franchise history as they won the 2011-12 Southeast Division. He had 27 goals and 38 assists in 99 games with the Panthers. Versteeg captured a Stanley Cup title with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2009-10 and they ended a 49-year championship drought.
