The Miami Marlins finished the month of March with a 3-0 shutout win over the Colorado Rockies on Sunday at Marlins Park. Both teams were able to split the four-game series. The Fish will next host the New York Mets while Colorado(2-2) heads to Tampa Bay and face the Rays.
In the fourth inning, Florida(2-2) compiled two runs to take the lead. Jorge Alfaro singled into center field for Brian Anderson and Neil Walker to score.
The Marlins increased their margin to 3-0 during the bottom of the seventh. J.T. Riddle smacked his second home run of the season over the right-field fence on a 1-1 pitch.
Marlins starting pitcher Sandy Alcantara hurled eight shutout innings and allowed only four hits for his first victory of the season. Sergio Romo picked up his first save as a Marlins player.
