Dwyane Wade played in his final NBA game on Wednesday night as the Miami Heat were handled by the Brooklyn Nets 113-94 at Barclays Center. Wade finished off a 16-season career that included 15 years with Miami. The Heat were eliminated from playoff contention on the previous night.
Brooklyn(42-20) moved ahead 32-23 at the end of the one quarter and held a 63-47 lead at halftime. Wade passed Elgin Baylor for 29th all-time in points during the early minutes of the third quarter. Miami(39-43) were unable to stay on pace and trailed 92-71 after three quarters. The Heat did score the first eight points of the final quarter.
Wade finished his last game with a triple-double of 25 points, 10 assists and 11 rebounds for Miami. It was his fifth career triple-double performance and his first since February 4, 2011 at Charlotte. Udonis Haslem, who might have appeared in the final NBA contest, compiled a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. D'Angelo Russell led the Nets with 21 points and seven rebounds.
