The Philadelphia Phillies beat the Miami Marlins 5-1 on Sunday at Citizens Bank Park. It was the final game of a four-game series between both teams.
Philadelphia(16-12) jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Rhys Hoskins doubled into left-center field which brought in Bryce Harper.
In the third inning, the Phillies extended their margin to 3-0. Jean Segura knocked in Andrew McCutchen with a triple to the wall in right field. Harper came out next, ground to short and Segura crossed the plate.
Miami(8-20) compiled their only run in the contest during the top of the fourth. Martin Prado scored from third on an infield single by Miguel Rojas.
It became a three-run gap for the Phils again in the bottom of the sixth. There was a wild pitch and Segura scored on the play. The same thing happened in the eight inning when McCutchen raced home on a wild pitch.
