The Florida Panthers have signed a new contract to remain on Miami Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM as their flagship station. The deal with the team will go until the end of the 2021-22 NHL season. Doug Plagens continues as the radio play-by-play announcer.
WQAM will have Florida Panthers head coach Joel Quenneville for a weekly guest segment along with a different player. The station will also continue to air the Panthers Insider program on Saturday mornings.
The Florida Panthers radio broadcasts have a long connection with 560 WQAM. The station had the radio rights from their inaugural season in 1993-94 to 2006-07. They lost broadcasting Panthers games to Sports Talk 790 The Ticket WAXY-AM for several seasons and it returned to WQAM in 2010-11.
