The San Francisco Giants avoided a three-game sweep with a 3-1 victory over the Miami Marlins on Wednesday at Marlins Park. The Marlins go back on the road after a short home stand and travel to San Diego while the Giants head for Baltimore to face the Orioles.
Miami(19-35) jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the second inning. Sandy Alcantara singled into left field for Miguel Rojas to score.
The Giants tied the contest up during the top of the seventh. Mike Yastzemski knocked in Brandon Crawford with a base hit to right.
San Francisco(22-33) pulled ahead 3-1 in the eight inning when Crawford hit a ground-rule double to center field. Buster Posey and Brandon Belt were able to score on the play.
